I have always wondered if people have ever fallen off the metro platform and onto the tracks. Today as I got off my metro I saw a bunch of very serious and quiet people staring at something on the floor behind some red and white tape which was tied between two pillars. There were a group of silent policemen standing there as well.
Behind the pillars I saw a woman who had been hit by a train. It looked as though they had gotten her back up onto the platform. No one was attending her, she was just lying there.
Oy! There went my day and desire for lunch.
I felt horrible for this woman and felt worse when I was walking down the street and I heard and saw an ambulance that was trying to get to her. The traffic was so backed up that no one could pull over to the side of the road to let the ambulance go through even if they wanted to do so.
I hope it wasn't as bad as it looked.
