Last year a friend gave me a devotional called "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young. When I flipped through it and read a few pages, it looked simple and I wondered if I would like it or not. I started reading the daily passages and scripture verses and soon I was hooked. Written in first person, as if the Lord were speaking to you Himself, makes the style of this devotional different. But after you get used to the simplistic depth of the writing, the passages begin to flow together as you read them every day and help you connect with the Lord.
